saying that the Semantic Web is going to explode as The Web itself did, i don't think so. and one measure, after publishing this video 3 years ago, its has still had less than 50,000 views. you see this again and again, that the hero of one tech wave thinks they knew what they did and that they can do it again. there are way more who lose at that then those who manage to pull it off. TBL is a hero. but he is dreaming that the Semantic Web will be major. wish it were otherwise.

@kriptonis You'll find it actually means inter connecting networks.By another company that took the idea of the arpanet (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), this other company in the US wanted to connect more nodes on their network to the ARPANET, this meant that it was an inter connecting network, so other nodes could retrieve data from those nodes in their network, making the Inter-net.

Internet - International network connecting computers.World Wide Web - specification that uses the internet to host sites and make them available worldwide. When you play World of Warcraft you use the Internet. When you go to Blizzard's site, you use the web.

I really wish that I could use something like the semantic grid. I have so much data to process and this laptop cannot just handle it.

yup .. but idea of semantic grid would to some extent solve it ... you lend off your work to other systems and get your results back ... sounds relevant ?
